Hi Dom.
The plan is to get her back on four wheels (hopefully by Christmas); fabricate and fit a seat; fabricate a rollcage, then get her tagged.
Hope all is well with you and yours.
Dave.

Hi Dave, will you be getting the chassis tagged before painting or putting the rest of the kit back on? Speak soon.

i tried doing exactly what you are doing with the laser but tig put too much heat in the chassis and i had a terrible time pulling it back, so be extremly carefule and make sure that the new tube is straight before the next weld, a jig at the front and in the middle is the only way to go.
i just put a fixture at the front and the tube bowed making the joint out of square, when i took it out it was 1/4 off!, i put it back in the jig and heated the hole front then let it cool down slowly, its only a 1/16 out now (1.6 mm to you in metric land)
it also releaved some of the stress, i hope, cos its a circuit car and will be used hard.
we don't want any cracking.

i see the pics of the wheel stand, looks good to the spectators but man did it do some damage or what!

are you staging the car with the clutch pedal up?
what r.p.m. are the weights applying at and are they all applying at the same time,
is there enough weight on some of the levers to completly apply the clutch and the rest are just along for the ride?

bent that chassis in style though, no half measures

good luck dave, its nice to see you are still trying.
